Default Liverpool wood pellets v corley biowood

Its all in the title really!

Having to change from shavings as old supplier has put his prices up and new suppliers shavings are rubbish

A friend has changed to the economy white horse bedding and we've both been impressed. The only downside is the bed is quite dark and shes going through 2-3 bags a week - don't know if this is because they are the economy ones?

After some searching on the web, people seem to say that liverpool pellets are whiter. However, there are a few opinions that corley biowood are just the same as liverpool but they are slightly cheaper.

I was just wondering if anyone has used either of these brands and which they preferred? At the moment I'm leaning towards the corley ones, simply because they are slightly cheaper. However, if I do go for the liverpool ones, is there any difference between economy and premium? Other than the price?

Sorry, I didn't believe you could get so hung up over what type of bedding to use!

I used the liverpool economy ones for a year or so and loved them. Saffy's quite messy and they were really easy to muck out. I went through a bag a week but I only had a shallow bed because my rubber mats are really springy. I only stopped using them because my new yard doesn't like people using bedding that isn't bought there.

I have only used the Liverpool ones so cant compare but I love them and use 2 bags of the economy ones a week which works out at £6.00 so cant complain at that really.

I used the Liverpool wood pellets for a couple of years with no problem.

However make sure to keep the horse's hooves well oiled to prevent drying out.

I am on Five Star Bedding.
It's the same as Liverpool Wood Pellets.
It's slightly cheaper, and IMO much better. The bedding stays in 'bigger' bits and is more like shavings for longer. I find Liverpool can get a bit dusty.

Chloe is FILTHY!!!!!!!! I still only put a bag a week in. I don't have rubber mats either.
This week I got confused and left it 2 weeks and yes it was messier than usual but not awful still.

I find it much, much better than Liverpool.

Is it true that some of the manufacturers make and market wood pellets as a fuel? I was told that if you bought the "fuel" version that you didnt get charged VAT??
