Default Grrrr!

WHY do people just think they can alter other horses tack without asking the owner! I overheard a girl talking about riding Piper in a flash because he looks "handsome" with it! They left the yard for a hack and when they came back piper had a big mark where the flash had been really tight!
Alas i do not own him but really-should people be fiddiling with ponies tack without asking the owner?! ie yard owner in this case!

As you can see-he is fine without one!

Sorry, post is really stupid and excuse my position!

It really bugs me too. Most horses probably don't need all the stuff they are ridden in, personally I hate drops of any kind, and have found horses that actually need are them few and far between.

Why people add silly stuff the horse doesn't need and think they look good I don't know - gadgets to me = schooling problem

Grrrrr indeed. It annoys me too. My youngster does open his mouth when schooling, but only when I'm not working him forwards enough into the contact. A quick "fix" would be putting a flash on, but it only hides a problem and does nothing to fix it.

I agree, i do ride coco in a flash, alot of the time he doesnt need it, but occasionally when he decides he has had enough he just opens his mouth and it is very unpleasent, dressage judges really dislike it!
I had someone wasking me the other day why i didnt have a martingale XC.. i dont need one!

Oooh don't get me started on gadgets

Re. the flash thing, ask this silly girl to clamp her mouth shut with something pushing on her tongue and try to swallow. She will see it's ****** well impossible and will give her a tiny idea of what her horse felt like the day she clamped his mouth shut, grrrr
