Question Dressage Legal Bits

Ok I need some advice please guys and gals

As you know, Abbey is ridden bitless, however, I plan to persue dressage with her as our main discipline. As much as it pains me to do so, I am going to have to get her bitted to compete in "proper" stressage. I hate having to do this as I absolutely detest bits but the BD rules are not about to change anytime soon so I really feel I do not have much choice in the matter I do plan on working my little butt off and trying to compete bitless at local events but this is more than likely going to be HC, which really I want to be able to compete properly (eventually).

So, what bits are dressage legal???

Abbey I know is going to be VERY difficult to bit. She has been ridden in an eggbutt snaffle in the past (not by me) but it didn't go very well at all. Abbey has a very large tongue so will need something thin, but as soft as possible.

The best bit for her is going to be a waterford, due to the links and the fact it is nice and flexible. Are Waterfords dressage legal?? I don't think they are but do correct me if I am wrong. It would be fantastic if they are.

xxx

Typical

God I hate the fact I am going to have to put a nasty chunk of metal in her mouth grrrrr. It will only be for the purpose of competing and some schooling. The rest she is staying bitless.

See now French Links are aren't they (legal I mean) but it is going to put way too much pressure on Abbey's huge tongue.

I think this is going to be a mission and a half!!

French links are yes.
How about something like one of those thin myler types, with loose rings maybe?

I'd suggest a sweet Iron french link. The KK's are very good but pricey.
