Default Jeremy's first time at cross country pics and vids

Lets start off saying im soooo pleased and excited for this year with Jez!

Anyway heres why...

Jez has never been cross country in open spaces etc, we met my previous horse Jake up there with his owners. Jake looks very well by the way.

I wasn't really expecting much to be honest I thought we would just be jumping a few tiny jumps and thats it, probably one lol!

I kept him in the small clear round field they call it and stayed on that course there 1ft3 - 1ft6 i think, after I gave him a trot and canter round, at first he was like ' whats that ' at every jump, he has a weird thing about logs in the woods he will only spook at a random log on the side, so odd!

I cant believe how long he landed to this we only trotted to them lol!

pats to jez

Then we walked round the bigger course for Jake to jump some bigger fences, and I showed Jez the bank, the smallest one and he went up and down it! Was so pleased it took Jake ages to go up his first bank lol!

This jump had a little drop.

Then showed him the ditch, im use to Jake leaping in the air when I use to jump him over it first and found a piccie for example... lol

But Jez was fine did go round it once, but atleast he went forwards and not backwards, and then he just stepped over it lovely.
First attempt not so good...

The I tried a canter with Jake, and knowing Jake yes he just took off to go in front lol, but Jez didnt care he was very good and stayed the same speed.
After the canter I stood Jez while Jake jumped some big jumps and he was very good, didnt try to run off with me.

A canter

Had a jump over a bigger log.

A picture by the barrel jump, Jake just jumped over it.

Then I did a little course to finish over the mini course and then finished.

And a piccie to finish

Im very pleased as you can tell, im going to Matt Frosts yard AM dressage for a lesson on the 16th April, the hoping to do a walk and trot test on him after that. But were going back to our previous yard Friday, to have my school back.

Well done - and have a great time at Matt's yard - I've seen him ride a couple of times.

I was convinced it was Tack Farm! Ah well.

The ponies both look fantastic, well done. Jez sounds like such a darling: level-headed, willing and genuine. You are going to have so much fun together!

It's so nice that you still see Jake regularly as well

What an honest lad he is! You've got yourself a diamond there, and he'll only improve, bless him.
