Bertie’s Easter weekend (lots of pics!!)

Hi All!!! I think I’m overdue a picture post so I took plenty of our long weekend!!!

Started with a long hack on Friday with my best friend on my other friend’s horse.

Tyson is 20 years old, 16’2 TB x WB, an ex eventer and has bone spavin so isn’t suitable for schooling or jumping, but he’s a lively type and isn’t showing his age or illness recently! His owner has lost his confidence with him and has bought a new horse, so my friend is riding him lots and he’s doing great. She’s an instructor so I get lots of instruction, wanted or not, on our rides lol

This is Tyson’s owner and her new horse Max – 15’2 tri coloured cob, 7 years old. He was bought as a confidence giver and although he’s a little underweight and has had little schooling, he’s been very good so far








Big Bertie beast having a few treats (sugar free polos, of course!!!) He’s actually so lazy he won’t move forward to get the treats, but would rather stretch his neck as far as it goes

We did another long hack (proper cardio workout!!) on Saturday then I gave him Sunday off, which he was happy about and ran away from me looking rather cheeky, as you can see

I just want to grab his big head and squeeze it! He's SO adorable! He has the best roman nose ever. And I definitely want to kiss his minty moustache!

Re the treat from the saddle. You can do that when you have a horse for keeps.

When Stan and I hacked I used to touch his left shoulder and he would stop and reach round for his treat.

Hehe have to agree with Jane its allowed when they are yours! lol
On my hack the other day I needed to tighten my girth and let Max have a quick picnic which I had some sharp comments for from a young girl who had tagged along uninvited.
If I let him have a snack that is my business, he doesn't snatch at grass and walks on no problem when asked to.
Bertie is loving his life at the moment from tose photos and he's is such a lovable dude
