Default Foal has gone.Very Upset, angry and confussed.

Hello All

I am so upset, angry and confused. Had the vet out tonight. She had a feel of megs belly and said the foal was very low down and she could make out bits and pieces. I was so happy,i gave a sigh of relief he was there and had just wanted to make sure all was ok as i was worried. She then palpitated her and made a joke that it was because i worry so much that she was but proceeded to tell me there is no foal!! And that she prob absorbed it in the winter! WTF!
I only had her out two months ago to check meg and baby and she told me all was ok! didn't palpitate or scan tho which i thought was odd.So was there a foal then, couldn't have been if she lost him in the winter!
Meg has milk coming out and the vet said its the cud! I am really gutted but angry as well.
Could she have got it wrong??Opinions much appreciated.

I'm so sorry.

The photos you posted, she looked to be in foal (if they were recent) I think I would have her scanned to make sure, I always thought if they lost the foals late, they would still come out but obviously not alive, would that explain why shes over due?

I think its unlikely that she has foaled and a fox has had it as the foal is going to be a fair size given the parents (unless she slipped it a few months ago)My mare produced milk briefly in the spring for a couple of years after her last foal, but not enough to think she was in foal again.
Can we have an up to date pic?
