Default showing help

My yard does D.I.Y, part-livery and full-livery, and the staff are putting on a show for us kids (not that I'm a kid, I'm the eldest at 17 years of age). They're doing jumping classes, but they're fine I can handle them. What I need advice on is the showing classes. There will be a fancy dress class, a equitation class, and a in-hand class. The fancy dress class is ok I think, just need to get an outfit together, but I need help for the equitation and maybe in-hand.
My position isn't great, as I sit like I'm in an arm chair, I'm trying very hard to sit up tall and straight, but my posture's not brilliant. Any ideas to maybe improve it?
Can you're horse/pony wear a flash when doing a ridden class or an in-hand class? As Nazika gets slightly excited, and takes the bit between her teeth and I can't stop easily.
Also, any ideas as to how to keep her clean she's a perfectionist and likes everyone to think she's pretty, which everyone seems to do. I'd just like some advice to get rid of mud and stable stains so we look presentable .

not sure on the flash for ridden showing as i always did M&Ms and they are plans cavesons only, and i think its the same across the board but im sure at local level it wont matter, for in hand no one ever usues them and you would be fine to take it off, if you can lead her in a headcollar you can lead her in a bridle

Equitation is usually no whips or spurs so make sure to practice without if you do use them, they may also ask to do some things like work without stirrups, sitting trot or something else out of the ordinary for a class that would look at the horse.

cleaning wise, scrub scrub scrub there is no secrets to keeping them clean or getting them clean just lots and lots of elbow grease

I would have thought at a yard fun show, you wouldn't be frowned upon to show in your bridle with the flash on. If it was an affiliated show, then you'd want an in hand bridle. I think that as long as you're both smart and clean you'll be fine Have a great day.

Best thing to do if you're not sure about the flash is to have it on in the class, but ask the judge before you start your show if it is acceptable. If they don't approve then you can always remove it and it shouldn't go against you as it is at their discretion and you've had the courtesy to ask!

Normally you shouldn't show in your flash but I'm sure a yard show will be pretty informal and more about fun than doing everything correctly.

As for sprucing up when it's too cold to bath, Cowboy Magic is fantastic!
