Default Storing leather saddle

Hiya, I haven't been on here for while as I had baby number 1 back in April and haven't owned my own ponio for over a year (sob). I have still been using my own treeless saddle tho and until recently it was still in use. I've just found out I'm havign baby number 2 in May next year and will be putting my saddle away in the loft.

I wondered if there was a good or bad way of doing this? The loft is dry, I've got clothes up there that haven't rotted but don't want to damage my leather saddle. Any ideas?

Clean it & then cover it with a saddle cover & store it.

Ditto Jess,

I always made sure my saddles were well looked after by keeping them clean and the leather in good condition, then storing them in either a saddle bag, with a saddle cover on, or a bag made by my aunt to keep them safe.

Quite a few of my breaking or starting saddles were leather, even if they werent used in ages, i still kept them clean and somewhere dry - helps them last for years

Cool, that sounds simple enough. I definately do want to look after it as it'll fit pretty much any horse I ride in the future.

I've already cleaned and oiled it so it'll go up at the weekend. Thank you!

just give it a good clean and make sure it is put away somewhere that isnt damp but also not too hot as the leather may dry out and crack, check on it from time to time if you rember but covered up leather usually stores quite well
