Default Update about Kylie

I have got some maaaajjooorrrr butterflies guys, infact I'm ******* welling up!! How silly!! Aah crap. Why am I almost crying??

I've just got off the phone from her old owner. She was just one of the nicest people to talk to, she talked my ear off about her, I didn't have to ask her anything. She said she used her as a broodmare and had 2 foals off her, but she had a baby and had to sell a couple.. and because she'd already had 2 foals from her, and she'd met a great girl who she thought she'd have a forever home with, she let her go. And she said to me it was a really difficult thing for her to do because she's such a gem. Before she sold her she brought her back into work and said that she's an angel, and flashy enough to trot around the local shows etc. She said she was just a true lady, perfect to shoe, clip, bath, box.. everything.

I explained my situation and she said she sounds perfect for me and can't wait for me to go and see her, and is really pleased that I've shown interest in her as she thinks she'll have a great home with me. She said she'd be the perfect first horse and will raise my confidence.

She had 2 foals from her, one which unfortunately had an accident, and the other who is nearly a 3 year old now and came 2nd in some inhand championships, and is becoming really successful. She said to ring her up anytime and I can go and see her daughter, she'd love to have me. And she was saying she'd love to keep in touch if I did get her, she obviously still cares a lot about her.

I'm just buzzing. You have to take what seller's say with a pinch of salt, but to me this woman has no reason to lie. She said exactly what the other woman said, that she's just perfect to do everything. She also said that she never hacked her but she sold her to a girl who she knows hacked her a lot, and said she would pretty much guarantee that she would be fine on her own. Plus she's fantastic with traffic and her yard is near a railway so is used to all sorts.

Is it possible to be this excited?!? Can I be this lucky??

Oh God pleaaasee don't let her sell before Sunday.

I knowww

She also said that she only sold her about a year ago and she passed a 5 stage vetting with flying colours, so I shouldn't have any problems. But obviously I will 100% most definately still be getting one done, it's just reassuring to know that she SHOULD pass it!! She said she's never been ill or lame either. Happy to live in or out. Very easy to keep. Can leave her for a month, shove some tack on her and ride and she's no different.

I think the only bad thing about this horse is her name..

Damn yet again I forgot to ask the mareish question!

Glad you have managed to speak to previous owner, sounds good.

At the risk of being a party pooper though, keep an open mind.Previous owners are far more likely to say good things than bad if you think about it sensibly.

I'm sure all the people involved and the horse are genuine, but just in case they're not be prepared and go to view with an open and cynical mind!!

Then make sure you go away and think about it,at least for a few hours,is so easy to fall in love on the spot and regret it later.

Sorry for being practical and boring, but the horse world can be so dishonest and would hate to see you get caught out when you waited so long and saved so hard for it.

ETA: try and get there at least half an hour early for the viewing as well, catch them out if they are riding, lunging her first,or anything else a bit dodgy!!

Agree with Dun Blonde ETA _ I think that's a good idea.

She sounds lovely. I really hope she works out, as I think she would suit you down to they ground. The two of you together would turn a few heads, that's for sure

Anybody is welcome Claire I'd love to have you!!

ZM & DB I'll state on the phone that I want to see the horse caught, tacked up, groomed etc. And I'll get there early too just incase.

I'll definately still go with an open mind, I'm not going to get carried away now after so long! Its just so exciting to speak to her old owner and get so much info like that
